Warner Greene, MD, PhD

Warner Greene is a physician-scientist who has studied HIV pathogenesis for the past 30 years. He is the founding and emeritus director of the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology and is now Director of the Michael Hulton Center for HIV Cure Research at Gladstone. He has been recognized by the Institute for Scientific Information as one of the 100 most-cited scientists and has published 400 manuscripts. As a member of the HOPE Collaboratory, Greene will lead studies on the identification of novel silencing promoting genes, pursue construction and testing of engineered transcriptional repressors, and investigate HIV persistence in the brain involving using iPSC-derived cerebral organoids.
